SUMMARY:November spicy online writing workshop: How to turn up the heat with C. E Murphy
DESCRIPTION:Heating up the narrative: A workshop on how to write spicy scenes\nIn a world where Romantasy has taken the world by storm\, learning how to write a spicy scene in the bedroom (or any place for that matter) is becoming an increasingly important (ahem) tool in the writer’s toolbox. But writing sexual scenes can be embarassing. How can you know if you are getting across the right effect without seeming clunky or cliched? Join us at a writer’s workshop focussed on how to write a spicy scene effectively under the tutelage of writer C.E (Catie) Murphy\, an expert on writing romance and sexual scenes. She will run you through the basics in this online workshop as well provide some feedback during the lesson on some writing exercises. \nCatie has offered to look at any spicy written work of up to 1\,000 words for all signees before the session and will review during the workshop or in written form if your prefer and specify. All pieces must be with her by the 16th of November! \nWarning: Make sure your clothing is flammable! \nC. E. Murphy\, is an American-born author\, based in Ireland\, who writes in the fantasy and romance genres. Some of her sexiest (but dark!) books are The Inheritors’ Cycle\, and she writes a considerable amount of sweet-to-sizzling paranormal romance as both Murphy Lawless and Zoe Chant. She is also known for the Walker Papers series\, The Negotiator Trilogy\, and The Strongbox Chronicles. \nThis event will take place online on zoom. Details to follow after sign-up. \nSome notes on our workshops:\n\nNew members are absolutely welcome – please feel free to come say hello and take part in the workshop\, even if you’ve never been to any of our events before. Attendance of a workshop does not count towards full member eligibility\, however.\nRegistrations will close 1 hour before the meeting start time. Please be advised that spaces are limited due to venue capacity\, so make sure to register your interest and keep it up to date if you find that you can no longer attend\, so someone else can take your spot. Please see our Attendance Policy linked below the form for more info.\nWaiting lists are managed through Discord. If the event is full up\, please put your name down in the appropriate thread on the #workshop channel on the Discord server (you can find it in the channel itself or as a sub-topic on the channel list on the left)\, and if a spot opens up an organiser will ping you to let you know so you can sign up. You can also keep checking the website ahead of the event\, with a maximum 1 hour buffer\, in case any spots open up.\n\nAs always\, we are asking for a small donation towards the group’s annual running costs at each free session. If you are able to donate\, you can pay online on our Ko-fi page\, where you can even make your donation monthly. Monthly Ko-fi donors get a special ‘Monthly Benefactor’ role on our Discord\, as well as discounts on any Spectrum-branded merch and special events tickets. So grab your spot while you can\, and we look forward to seeing you there! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
