This is the first chapter of a longer novel. It is set in a secondary world and the genre could be considered science fantasy or epic fantasy, though it draws on a number of different ‘aesthetics’.

I am most curious to know about how I have handled the infodumps (are there too many? Do they feel natural or obtrusive?), and what you feel about the PoV character of this chapter, Moura Sharn (is she interesting? Sympathetic?). I would also be interested to know if you feel the foreshadowing for later events is too blatant?
