This is the prologue for a novel total length about 150,000 words. Feedback from another group suggested spending more time with the characters before the events so it runs a little longer than an earlier draft. Queries for you to consider:
1. Do you feel connected to the characters you meet?
2. I have tried to thread the worldbuilding throughout – does it answer questions you have at the right moment in the story?
3. This is an action-packed opening – do you feel suitably drawn in to this world to read more?
4. In this draft I have unpacked a bit more so would welcome suggestions of where I can cut some content.
