The protagonist is a carnivorous bird so there’s a certain amount of blood and gore.

It’s intended as an exploration of how evolutionary background affects the form of intelligence, relationships and society of two non-human intelligent species in one world. The story relates to a novel I’m working on but this is a standalone piece. Some questions remain unanswered – this is intentional.
