Authors note: First 4,800 words of a 50,000 word novella, more melodrama than literature with an emphasis on satire as social criticism. I would like to know if the plot is understandable and if the language used interesting. I got hammered for my first submission of this piece as it was frankly incomprehensible. Thanks. I wrote a new opening chapter as a prolog to set the scene and introduce the characters. Also ironed out some of the indulgences in the body of the text. Only new stuff this time around.

It has only been a month since my last submission, so place this in the queue appropriately. Any content warning you feel necessary, please add. I’m somewhat baffled at this point as to what is allowed, but certainly don’t want to offend anyone. I added a copy of the “authors note” before the work’s title.
